Santa Raymond Consultants now offer training to enable members of the building design and management teams communicate more effectively with their clients – as well as with contractors and suppliers, and with each other.

In helping the development of teams and partnering, so projects emerge that are beautiful to look at, are enjoyable to be in, function well over time for all stakeholders, and come in on budget and programme.

Daylong seminars in Essential Communication Skills are offered to members of different practices, or for those from a single practice only. Presentation Coaching may follow on from this.

ESSENTAIL COMMUNICATION SKILLS

The objectives of these seminars are to help participants to:

  Engage effectively with all those involved with the project

  Develop understanding of the dynamics between client and architect

  Present verbal and visual information in a way that communicates clearly

The format includes the following modules:

  Preparation – in advance of the seminar, participants are asked to note their core concerns, and arrive ready to present these for discussion.

  Communication Basics – the different aspects of good communication are presented.

  Investigation – synthesis of concerns, and presentation practice.

  Brief Development – using role-play and a given scenario, participants are enabled to appreciate the importance of active listening in creating effective client – and other - relationships.

  Presentation Basics – the key aspects of preparation, format and delivery are highlighted.

  Presenting – each person makes a short presentation.

  Feedback – is given on format and delivery – with other participants acting as ‘mirrors', and key elements being noted.

  Action – participants list learnings and in what ways they will act differently in the future as a result of the seminar.

PRESENTATION COACHING

Individual sessions are sandwiched between two group sessions in which presentation techniques are discussed and practiced.
